Yes thats right! The game I wrote thrice about and then never updated you about has been uploaded and the final polish is being added. Just a few more art assets and you’ll be able to play Combat Casino. It’s been a long two months of non-stop work on this baby but I’m finally ready to share it with the world. There will be no ads and it’s completely free. The only MTX are there to support me if you want to. Thank you for your time. Link above or on the sidebar.

Clickbait. Gotcha, I hope. Nah I love it. The problem is just that it’s always salt with garlic and I want garlic with salt, ya know? Oh, how does this relate to game development? Show, don’t tell.

Alright a day late but I’m here now. So the combat was where I spent most of my early dev time. Initially I just had it so enemies would take damage when you clicked on them. Then, I simply made the different results of the slot machine determine the damage you did. After that I let you choose what attack you did and whom you attacked with it. Pretty simple, and I’m a little foggy on the details as this was over a month ago but here are some of my gifs from testing. Next I started working on making...

This was the initial map generation code. I created a 2d Array of Areas, which are all the information needed for a fight in one object, then I randomly removed some of them, converted the array to XY coords, rendered the icons, and drew lines between that. Then I simply got the touch inputs delta and added it to the maps XY. Testing different generation settings Next I added scattering to the XY Coords to add some visual variety I’ll talk about the combat tests on Thursday.

I am building a game called Combat Casino. It is a high fantasy, space casino themed roguelike inspired by Slay the Spire, Dungeon Reels, and Dungeons and Dragons. I’m sure many, many more things have influence on it like Mass Effect, Dragon Age, Skyrim, Warhammer, and Final Fantasy. I should have started this blog a long time ago but I didn’t know if I was going to put this game out then, and now I am 100% sure I am as it’s on the Google Play store in internal testing at the moment. Here are some gifs
